i. Live course: Discuss with your instructor if a blended or online course is a possibility for you or if you could attend another class that meets when you are not working.
ii. Blended course: Discuss with your instructor if an online course is a possibility for you or if you could attend another class that meets when you are not working.

Loss of a Family Member
I had a family member pass away, should I withdraw from the class or do I have other options?
A. You may have several options. Please consider the following circumstances:
i. Do you think you will miss 1-2 weeks of class and then be able to return to your academics?
a. If yes, reach out to your instructor and explain the situation. Ask if you can catch up on some work that might be late and if you will still be able to complete the course at this time or check and see if there are alternative assignments to submit.
ii. Is it close to the end of the semester and you are in good academic standing?
a. If yes, reach out to your instructor and explain the situation. Ask if you are eligible for a grade of “Incomplete / I.” A grade of “I” will give you an opportunity to make up or complete work within a reasonable time based on the faculty members decision and you can submit it after the semester has ended. Once received and graded the faculty member can adjust the grade of “I” accordingly.
iii. Is it early in the semester and do you think 2 weeks isn’t enough time to grieve?
a. If yes, reach out to your instructor and explain the situation.
b. Determine if you will be able to successfully complete the course with the missed classes and completed make up work.
c. Discuss a withdrawal for extenuating circumstances with your academic advisor and see if financial reimbursement is a possibility.
